OCTOPUZ Product Update: April 2025 release

By James Schnarr, Senior Product Manager

As OCTOPUZ continues to evolve, we’re delivering cutting-edge automation features and expanded robot brand support in our April 2025 release. This update enhances key capabilities, making robot programming more efficient and adaptable across a wider range of systems. With smarter automation and broader robot brand compatibility, it's another step forward in streamlining your workflow and maximizing productivity.

Advanced automatic path solving

When creating a path, start and end points can now be automatically adjusted to prevent collisions and other robot errors. This automation provides complete flexibility in how adjustments are made – set tolerances for push/pull angle, twist, and offsets to find the optimal torch positions effortlessly.
This feature can be used both when creating individual paths, and when using automatic programming.

Sync Program support for Fanuc

Sync Program is designed to keep OCTOPUZ programs in sync with pendant modifications by importing updated touch-up positions. Quickly updates your OCTOPUZ program to reflect any positional adjustments, ensuring consistency across platforms with minimal effort.
In this release, this feature now supports FANUC robots (in addition to already supported ABB and YASAKWA robots).

Import Robot Program support for Kawasaki

The “Import Robot Programs” feature can import a backup or code file created at the physical robot. This is particularly useful when importing point data for a robot calibration.
In addition to the many brands already supported, this feature now supports Kawasaki robots.

More improvements

  • Modify multiple local paths: It is now possible to modify multiple local paths at once. In a program, select multiple local paths, right click and select Modify. This opens a panel similar to that of Automatic Programming.
  • Easily rename entities: there is a new option to right click an entity and rename it. This works for components in the Components list, programs in the ‘all programs’ panel, and statements in a program.
  • Touch up circle moves: it is now possible to touch up the position of a circle move in an arc.
  • Name field on login: When logging into OCTOPUZ, the first and last name fields have been collapsed to a single “name” field, which is more inclusive to names which do not follow a first/last name structure.
  • Option to hide all moves on Build tab: on the Build tab, there is a new option in the Show flyout to hide all paths and individual moves from visibility on the Build tab.
  • More: plenty of other performance and UI/UX improvements, plus a number of bug fixes (review release notes in full).
